Midgrade gas was sold at the lowest price of $5.39 per gallon at one gas station in Placer County during the week ending Mar. 28, according to customer reports submitted to GasBuddy.

Countywide, midgrade gas averaged $5.89 per gallon.

Of the 122 reported gas stations located within Placer County, 66 offered midgrade gas.

The statewide average price of midgrade gas in California was $5.98 per gallon for the week ending Mar. 28, an increase from the previous week.

U.S. gas prices continue to decline after reaching their lowest level since 2021, according to GasBuddy. The group projects the national average could dip below $2.80 per gallon during the holiday period, driven by increased oil production and lower seasonal demand.
