On Saturday, May 17, former Roseville High School standout Makayla Newsom’s current collegiate team the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos won 4-3 against the Arizona State Sun Devils in the NCAA Division I Softball Championship.

The game took place at Easton Stadium at 4:55 p.m. and was the first matchup against the Arizona State Sun Devils in the tournament.

The UC Santa Barbara Gauchos’ next game will take place on Saturday, May 17 at 9:05 p.m. at Easton Stadium.
