Kevin Kiley, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 3rd district, posted a series of statements on his social media account addressing concerns about fraud in California and the actions being taken to address it.
On January 21, 2026, Kiley wrote, “Today Nick Shirley told me he suspects the fraud in California is even worse than what he uncovered in Minnesota. He’s right.”
The following day, on January 22, 2026, Kiley detailed measures aimed at curbing fraudulent activities: “We’re bringing accountability for the massive fraud in California. We’ve cut off High-Speed Rail funds, instituted ID verification for community college applications after 1.2 million fakes, and seen several indictments for homelessness fraud schemes. There’s plenty more to come.”
Later that same day, Kiley commented on actions by a Special Counsel: “The Special Counsel seized phone records for the Speaker and Members of Congress, then got judges to order this be kept a secret. He never told the judges who he was targeting, as that would have raised constitutional objections. Such conduct is now forbidden by DOJ policy.”
Kevin Kiley has represented California’s 3rd District in Congress since 2023 after serving in the California State Assembly from 2016 to 2022. Born in Sacramento in 1985 and currently residing in Rocklin, Kiley holds degrees from Harvard University and Yale Law School.
