Kevin Kiley, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 3rd district, has recently used his social media platform to address several issues related to federal budget reform, state technology projects, and House legislative procedures.

On December 1, 2025, Kiley highlighted the findings of a fiscal watchdog regarding his proposed legislation: “The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget found our bill, the Fix It Act, actually results in savings to taxpayers, while preventing a massive increase in healthcare premiums for millions of Americans. We achieve this through reforms to prevent fraud and overpayments.”

The following day, December 2, 2025, Kiley criticized the handling of a major public safety technology initiative in California: “Californians have been charged extra fees on their phone service the last six years to fund a ‘Next Generation 911 System.’ Yet after spending $450 million, Newsom just scrapped the whole project because the technology doesn’t work. Our government is broken.”

On December 3, 2025, he commented on proposed changes to House procedures: “The Speaker has floated a proposal to stop discharge petitions, which are a way for Members of the House to advance legislation when Leadership fails to act. That is an absolute nonstarter. The House would cease to be a majoritarian body.”

Kiley has represented California’s 3rd District in Congress since 2023 after previously serving in the California State Assembly from 2016 to 2022. He was born in Sacramento in 1985 and resides in Rocklin. His academic background includes degrees from Harvard University and Yale Law School.
