Kevin Kiley, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 3rd district since 2023, has recently addressed issues ranging from gerrymandering to social media censorship and political posturing in a series of posts on his official account.
On September 23, 2025, Kiley voiced opposition to a state proposition related to electoral boundaries, stating: “Terminate Gerrymandering. No on Prop. 50.”
The following day, Kiley commented on developments in the technology sector and free speech, writing: “Google has joined Facebook and X in condemning the vast social media censorship of the Biden Administration. YouTube is also restoring the accounts of creators who were banned. This historic victory for the 1st Amendment resulted from our oversight on the Judiciary Committee.” This statement refers to recent actions by major technology companies regarding content moderation policies and their response to government influence.
On September 25, Kiley questioned California Governor Gavin Newsom’s political intentions with: “If Newsom doesn’t think there will be a 2028 election, why does he spend all of his time posturing for the 2028 election?”
Kiley has served in Congress since replacing John Garamendi in 2023 and previously represented constituents in the California State Assembly from 2016 to 2022. Born in Sacramento in 1985 and currently residing in Rocklin, Kiley holds degrees from Harvard University (BA) and Yale University (JD).
