Kevin Kiley, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing California’s 3rd district, has recently shared several updates on his social media platform. The posts focus on legislative actions and political developments related to his work and observations in California.

On May 16, 2025, Kevin Kiley highlighted significant advancements in their strategy to “Newsom-Proof” California. According to Kiley, they have made progress by compelling Governor Gavin Newsom to terminate his Medi-Cal policy for illegal immigrants. Additionally, he mentioned the overturning of Newsom’s gas-car ban in the House with a Senate vote pending. He also referenced the passing of Proposition 36 aimed at criminalizing certain activities. “We’ve made major progress on all 10 pillars of our plan to Newsom-Proof California: We’ve (1) forced Newsom to end his Medi-Cal for illegal immigrants policy; (2) overturned his gas-car ban in the House with the Senate voting next week; (3) passed Prop. 36 to make crime illegal”.

On May 17, 2025, Kiley addressed attempts by both the White House and House Democrats to prevent the release of certain recordings referred to as “the Hur tapes.” He implied that there was a deliberate effort to keep these tapes from public scrutiny due to their sensitive nature. “Both the White House and House Democrats blocked every attempt we made to release the Hur tapes. They did not want the American people to hear them.”

On May 18, 2025, Kiley commented on rising fuel prices in California, suggesting an impending $8 per gallon cost while attributing it sarcastically not to local taxes or regulations but rather hinting at underlying state policies impacting prices. “$8/gallon is coming to California soon. But it definitely has nothing to do with our insane taxes and regulations.”

Kevin Kiley has served in Congress since replacing John Garamendi in 2023 after previously being part of the California State Assembly from 2016-2022.
