Kevin Kiley, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 3rd district since 2023, posted a series of statements on his social media account on September 5, 2025, addressing topics ranging from political accusations to state unemployment and free speech issues.

In a post published at 2:52 a.m. UTC, Kiley responded to claims made by Senator Schiff regarding his voting record. He wrote, “Senator Schiff claims I was ‘missing in action’ for not voting for a prior redistricting bill. Turns out I had a pretty good excuse: I wasn’t in Congress yet. So surprising that he would ever mislead the public.”

Later that day, at 4:39 p.m. UTC, Kiley commented on California’s economic situation with the statement: “CALIFORNIA HAS THE HIGHEST UNEMPLOYMENT RATE IN THE NATION.”

In another post at 7:25 p.m. UTC, Kiley discussed a recent federal court decision related to free speech and state legislation. He stated, “A federal judge just struck down a new California law banning images like this. Newsom signed the law to censor a popular parody video of Kamala Harris. Thankfully, the First Amendment is still alive in our state.”

Kiley has represented California’s 3rd District in Congress since replacing John Garamendi in 2023 and previously served in the California State Assembly from 2016 to 2022. Born in Sacramento in 1985 and currently residing in Rocklin, Kiley holds degrees from Harvard University (BA) and Yale University (JD).
