Rep. Kevin Kiley, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing California’s 3rd District, has been vocal about several key issues affecting his constituents and state. His recent social media posts reflect both a recognition of academic achievements within his district and criticism of statewide infrastructure projects.
On June 3, 2025, Rep. Kiley expressed pride in acknowledging six students from California’s Third District who received appointments to a prestigious U.S. Service Academy. He stated, “I am proud to recognize six outstanding students from California’s Third District who received appointments to a prestigious U.S. Service Academy! I wish these students the best as they continue their journey, and I look forward to seeing their future accomplishments.”
The following day, on June 4, 2025, Rep. Kiley commented on the ongoing controversy surrounding California’s high-speed rail project. He highlighted an audit by the U.S. Department of Transportation that found “no viable path forward” for the project and mentioned that this conclusion could lead to the termination of $4 billion in federal grants.
On June 5, 2025, Rep. Kiley announced his participation in The Guy Benson Show later that evening to discuss what he termed as “the failure of California’s high-speed rail project.” In his post he noted: “I’m excited to join The Guy Benson Show at 5:05 ET tonight to talk about the failure of California’s high-speed rail project… It is time to end this embarrassment for our state once and for all and use our transportation dollars in ways that will actually benefit the quality.”
Kevin Kiley has served in Congress since replacing John Garamendi in 2023 after previously serving in the California State Assembly from 2016 to 2022. Born in Sacramento in 1985 and residing now in Rocklin, he holds degrees from Harvard University (BA) and Yale University (JD).
