Kevin Kiley, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 3rd district since 2023, has been vocal on social media regarding recent political developments in California. Kiley, who previously served in the California State Assembly from 2016 to 2022, has shared his perspectives on various issues affecting the state.
On May 21, 2025, Kiley commented on a statement made by the governor of a state with the highest real poverty rate in the nation. He expressed his viewpoint through a tweet saying “Says the governor of the state with the nation’s highest real poverty rate.”
The following day, May 22, 2025, Kiley announced that his resolution to halt Governor Newsom’s gas-car ban had passed in the Senate and was now awaiting President Trump’s approval. He described this development as “It’s over. The Senate just passed my Resolution to stop Newsom’s gas-car ban. It now heads to President Trump’s desk. This is a bipartisan national repudiation of the utter insanity Newsom has inflicted on our state.”
Later that same day, Kiley celebrated what he termed another victory for his movement aimed at restoring sanity in California with the reversal of the gas-car ban. He remarked on this outcome via Twitter: “With the reversal of the gas-car ban, our movement to restore sanity in California has another victory and Gov. Newsom has yet another defeat.”
Kevin Kiley was born in Sacramento, California in 1985 and currently resides in Rocklin. He graduated from Harvard University with a BA in 2007 and earned his JD from Yale University.
