Kevin Kiley, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 3rd district since 2023, has used his social media platform to comment on several ongoing political issues in California and at the federal level.

On September 19, 2025, Kiley posted about a recent congressional hearing involving FBI Director Kash Patel. He wrote: “At yesterday’s hearing, I asked FBI Director Kash Patel to investigate California High-Speed Rail. He said the FBI can investigate for any waste, fraud or abuse. So far, $16 billion has been spent and nothing has been built.”

Later that day, Kiley addressed campaign financing related to redistricting efforts in California. In a post timestamped September 19, 2025, he stated: “George Soros just gave $10 million to Newsom’s Redistricting Sham. In case there were any doubts what this is all about.”

In another post from September 19, 2025, Kiley commented on the possibility of a government shutdown and proposed legislative action. He wrote: “We’re on the verge of a government shutdown because Chuck Schumer is captive to the extremists in his party. I’m offering an off-ramp: a bill that keeps the government open while also ending the redistricting war. This lets Schumer save face and saves California from Newsom.”

Kiley’s remarks come amid ongoing scrutiny of large infrastructure projects like California High-Speed Rail and debates over redistricting practices in the state. The high-speed rail project has faced criticism for its costs and delays over many years.

Kevin Kiley was born in Sacramento in 1985 and currently resides in Rocklin. Before being elected to Congress in 2023—succeeding John Garamendi—he served in the California State Assembly from 2016 to 2022. Kiley holds degrees from Harvard University (BA) and Yale University (JD).
