Kevin Kiley, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 3rd district since 2023, posted a series of statements on his social media account addressing election integrity and state-federal legal disputes.

On November 17, 2025, Kiley advocated for nationwide reforms to the electoral process, stating: “End gerrymandering nationwide. Require voter ID nationwide. That is the simple formula for restoring trust in the democratic process that has broad support with Americans of all political leanings.”

Later that day, he commented on a legal dispute involving California and federal law enforcement: “This lawsuit is entirely appropriate. California has zero legal authority to regulate federal law enforcement, and zero moral authority on the topic of masks after mandating them for toddlers.”

On November 18, 2025, Kiley criticized recent changes to Proposition 50 by California lawmakers: “This is why Newsom and the Legislature removed the ‘only if Texas does it’ language from Prop. 50. California’s gerrymander will stand even if the Texas map falls. If only someone had warned that a redistricting war was utterly foolish…”

Kiley’s comments come amid ongoing debates over election laws and redistricting in several states. He previously served in the California State Assembly from 2016 to 2022 before joining Congress in 2023, succeeding John Garamendi as representative for California’s 3rd district. Born in Sacramento in 1985 and currently residing in Rocklin, Kiley holds degrees from Harvard University (BA) and Yale University (JD).
