Kevin Kiley, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 3rd district since 2023, has been vocal on social media regarding his political stance and concerns about state policies. Born in Sacramento in 1985, Kiley has a background in law with degrees from Harvard University and Yale University.
On June 7, 2025, Kiley expressed his support for Riley Gaines via Twitter, stating “I support @Riley_Gaines_”.
The following day, June 8, 2025, he addressed the issue of immigration enforcement in California. He criticized Karen Bass and Gavin Newsom for their stance on ICE operations by suggesting that if they prefer not to have targeted immigration operations conducted by ICE, they should cease being a Sanctuary City and State. He stated “If Karen Bass and Gavin Newsom would rather ICE not conduct targeted immigration operations, there’s a simple solution: stop being a Sanctuary City and Sanctuary State. Cooperate with federal authorities and stop egging on violent agitators.”
Later that day, Kiley commented on what he perceives as reckless political leadership in California contributing to chaos in Los Angeles. He mentioned the state’s policies that align with Biden’s open border approach as enabling illegal crossings and creating deportation needs. He remarked “California’s reckless political leadership has done everything possible to enable the chaos in LA: 1) Aiding and abetting Biden’s open border, making California the top sector for illegal crossings and creating the need for deportations. 2) Adopting sanctuary policies that”
Kevin Kiley has served both at the state level in the California State Assembly from 2016 to 2022 before moving to national politics.
