Kevin Kiley, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 3rd district since 2023, has posted a series of statements on his Twitter account addressing issues ranging from university leadership changes to international infrastructure projects and state policy decisions.
On July 17, 2025, Kiley commented on recent developments in higher education leadership and campus controversies: “Half the Ivy League presidents have resigned since we began our anti-Semitism investigation. But much insanity remains. Berkeley revoked a professorship from an Israeli scholar in response to faculty demands, then endowed a chair for a professor who praised Hamas terrorists.”
Later that day, he addressed technological advancements abroad compared to domestic progress: “China is planning to complete a train in the next decade that will go 3 times faster than the one you’ve been unable to even start building in 17 years.” (July 17, 2025).
On July 18, 2025, Kiley made another post referencing California Governor Gavin Newsom’s policies: “Newsom wanted these people to remain in our communities.”
Kiley’s remarks come as part of his ongoing engagement with national and state-level issues. He has served as a member of Congress since replacing John Garamendi in 2023 and previously held office in the California State Assembly from 2016 to 2022. Born in Sacramento in 1985 and currently residing in Rocklin, Kiley holds degrees from Harvard University and Yale Law School.
