Kevin Kiley, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 3rd district, has used his social media platform to comment on recent economic and political developments in California.

On July 24, 2025, Kiley posted: “California has added 0 jobs this year. The rest of the country has added a million. Newsom is right. Our state really is ‘leading the nation.'”

The following day, he commented on a statewide policy reversal: “A new PPIC poll finds 63 percent of Californians are opposed to Newsom’s Gas Car Ban. I have good news for them: the ban is gone. President Trump has signed my Resolution to overturn Newsom, and Californians can continue to drive the car of their choice.” This statement references a Public Policy Institute of California poll and notes executive action at the federal level.

Later that same day, Kiley addressed fiscal issues related to federal taxation and state borrowing: “California does not pay federal taxes. Our citizens do. Our citizens are also paying for the $20 billion federal loan that Newsom defaulted on.”

Kevin Kiley assumed office in Congress in 2023 after serving in the California State Assembly from 2016 to 2022. He was born in Sacramento in 1985 and resides in Rocklin. Kiley holds degrees from Harvard University and Yale Law School.
