Kevin Kiley, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing California’s 3rd district since 2023, has recently taken to social media to discuss developments related to the California High-Speed Rail project and other matters. With a background in law from Yale University and previous experience in the California State Assembly, Kiley’s recent posts reflect his continued engagement with state issues.
On June 4, 2025, Kevin Kiley shared on Twitter that “The Department of Transportation’s audit of California High-Speed Rail is in. Its conclusion: there is ‘no viable path forward’ for the project, and $4 billion in federal grants will be terminated.” He further stated, “We are delivering on our plan to Newsom-Proof California.”
In a follow-up post on June 5, 2025, Kiley referenced his collaboration with Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy earlier this year: “In February I joined Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy to announce an investigation into CA High-Speed Rail. Today’s findings confirm there is ‘no viable path forward’ and $4 billion in grants can be terminated.” He described this development as “the beginning of the end for this disastrous project.”
Additionally, on June 5, 2025, Kiley alleged misuse of taxpayer funds by Governor Gavin Newsom: “Did you know that Gavin Newsom pays a guy to troll me on X? At taxpayer expense.”
Kevin Kiley was born in Sacramento in 1985 and resides in Rocklin. His educational background includes a BA from Harvard University obtained in 2007.
