Kevin Kiley, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 3rd district since 2023, has been vocal on social media regarding recent political developments in California. Kiley, who previously served in the California State Assembly from 2016 to 2022, has expressed his views on various issues through a series of tweets.
On June 2, 2025, Kiley commented on a decision by California’s Supermajority to increase gas prices by another 65 cents. He stated, “The vote just happened, and California’s runaway Supermajority voted to raise gas prices another 65 cents. I wish I could say I was shocked.”
The following day, June 3, Kiley highlighted what he described as an emerging coalition for common sense in California. He noted that one million new Republicans have registered since Governor Newsom took office and mentioned other political shifts such as the recall of rogue district attorneys and the flipping of longtime Democrat seats. Additionally, he celebrated the passage of Proposition 36 with significant support. He remarked, “A coalition for common sense is emerging in California…California is worth fighting for!”
On June 4, Kiley criticized Governor Newsom and the Supermajority for their policies affecting girls’ sports. He warned that these actions might lead to the loss of federal funding for California due to what he termed as a “disgraceful policy.” His tweet read: “I’ve been warning Newsom and the Supermajority that their illegal quest to destroy girls’ sports would have consequences.”
Kevin Kiley was born in Sacramento in 1985 and currently resides in Rocklin. He holds a BA from Harvard University and a JD from Yale University.
