Kevin Kiley, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 3rd district, has recently made several statements on social media addressing state policies and public safety concerns.

On February 11, 2026, Kiley criticized California’s gas tax and announced his legislative efforts to reduce it: “After overturning Newsom’s insane gas-car ban, we’re now going to cut his insanely high gas tax. My bill sets a national cap that will save CA drivers 21 cents/gallon immediately. California has a higher gas tax than every state yet has worse roads than just about every state.”

In another post dated February 13, 2026, Kiley questioned the use of funds for emergency communication infrastructure in California: “Californians were charged extra fees on their phone service the last six years for a ‘Next Generation 911 System.’ Yet after spending $450 million, Newsom scrapped the whole project because the technology doesn’t work. This investigation will be revealing.”

Later that day, he raised concerns about biosecurity following reports of unauthorized laboratories: “The Chinese bio lab found in Reedley had a freezer labeled ‘Ebola.’ Ebola has a 50% fatality rate and the CCP is likely using gain-of-function research to make it more transmissible. Now, a second lab was raided in Vegas. We urgently need to find out how many are out there.”

Kiley has represented California’s 3rd congressional district since replacing John Garamendi in 2023 and previously served in the California State Assembly from 2016 to 2022. Born in Sacramento in 1985 and currently residing in Rocklin, Kiley holds degrees from Harvard University and Yale Law School.
