Kevin Kiley, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 3rd district since 2023, has recently used his social media platform to criticize state and federal political dynamics, the California High-Speed Rail project, and criminal justice policies.

On August 23, 2025, Kiley posted: “This is not Democrats vs. Republicans. It’s citizens vs. politicians. It’s a battle between people of decency who care about our state and the corrupt band of mediocrities doing everything possible to destroy it.”

Later that day, he commented on transportation policy in California: “CA High-Speed Rail has announced ‘transformational’ plans for a Palmdale-Gilory line by 2039, making an LA-SF trip possible in 6 hours using 3 different transit systems. And even this is based on fantasy: it relies on federal funding we just successfully cut off.” This statement refers to ongoing debates over the feasibility and funding of the state’s high-speed rail initiative.

On August 24, Kiley addressed public safety concerns: “Out-of-control crime is not a norm we must accept. That’s what President Trump is showing in DC. It results from radical political choices: defunded police, weakened penalties, reckless DAs.

Last year, Californians said enough is enough by voting to make crime illegal again.”

Kiley’s remarks reflect his broader legislative priorities as a congressman and former member of the California State Assembly from 2016 to 2022. Born in Sacramento in 1985 and currently residing in Rocklin, Kiley holds degrees from Harvard University (BA) and Yale University (JD). His background informs his perspectives on governance and public policy issues facing California.
