Rep. Kevin Kiley, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 3rd district since 2023, has been vocal on several issues concerning his state. His recent statements via social media highlight his positions on election processes, legal decisions involving the National Guard, and public land legislation.
On June 19, 2025, Rep. Kiley criticized California’s Secretary of State for defending the state’s extended vote-counting process. He stated that “California’s Secretary of State just defended the state’s month-long process of counting votes, claiming that ‘faster counting’ is ‘more costly.’ This is absurd. No other state takes nearly as long.” He announced his sponsorship of the Election Results Accountability Act to address this issue.
In another post dated June 20, 2025, Kiley addressed a legal matter involving Governor Gavin Newsom and the National Guard. He remarked that “Gavin Newsom just lost his lawsuit to remove the National Guard from LA. The 9th Circuit’s ruling against him is unanimous.” Kiley called for an apology from the Governor to both National Guard members and California taxpayers.
On June 21, 2025, Rep. Kiley expressed his opposition to legislation affecting public lands. He stated his commitment to protecting these areas by saying “I am strongly opposed to legislation allowing our public lands to be sold without meaningful local input.” As a representative of regions including Lake Tahoe, he emphasized his dedication to preserving these landscapes.
Kevin Kiley was born in Sacramento in 1985 and resides in Rocklin. He holds degrees from Harvard University and Yale University and served in the California State Assembly before joining Congress.
