Kevin Kiley, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 3rd district, has recently used his social media platform to comment on current political developments and their impacts.

On November 8, 2025, Kiley posted about ongoing disruptions at Reagan Airport due to a government shutdown. He wrote, “I was just live at Reagan Airport where there have been major flight delays all day. Air traffic controllers are missing their paychecks, with some having to drive an Uber after work to make ends meet. All because Congress isn’t doing its job. This shutdown needs to end.”

Later that same day, he criticized recent congressional scheduling decisions in another post: “Cancelling the House of Representatives for six weeks was a terrible, mystifying decision.” This statement referred to an extended recess taken by the House amid ongoing federal budget negotiations.

In a third post on November 8, Kiley commented on Governor Gavin Newsom’s statements regarding upcoming elections and redistricting efforts: “Newsom apparently thinks the 2026 elections are cancelled. He declared his gerrymandered map nets ‘five seats.’ Californians still get to vote. Just like they did last year when we beat Newsom’s hand-picked candidate with votes from Republicans, Independents, and Democrats.”

Kiley has served in Congress since 2023 after replacing John Garamendi and previously spent six years in the California State Assembly. Born in Sacramento in 1985 and now residing in Rocklin, Kiley holds degrees from Harvard University and Yale Law School.
