Kevin Kiley, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 3rd district, has raised concerns about redistricting and election policies in a series of posts on social media.

On August 6, 2025, Kiley posted: “Gerrymandering is a problem regardless of which party does it, and it certainly shouldn’t be done in the middle of the decade. But what Gavin Newsom is attempting in California goes beyond that. It is a full-fledged assault on democracy itself.”

Later that day, he continued to address electoral reforms by stating: “Two policies Americans overwhelmingly support are ending gerrymandering and requiring voter ID. This can be the basis for a deal that ushers in a new era of fairness in American elections.”

On August 7, 2025, Kiley commented further on California Governor Gavin Newsom’s political actions: “Newsom wants to run for president yet has the worst record of any candidate in history. So he resorts to stunt after stunt in an endless bid for attention. His redistricting scheme is the latest example. Once again, Californians will pay the price for his delusional ambitions.”

Kiley has represented California’s 3rd congressional district since 2023 after serving in the California State Assembly from 2016 to 2022. He was born in Sacramento in 1985 and resides in Rocklin. Kiley holds degrees from Harvard University and Yale Law School.
