Kevin Kiley, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 3rd district and former member of the California State Assembly, used his social media platform on August 30 and 31, 2025, to address recent political developments in California and criticize Governor Gavin Newsom.
The following day, he continued his remarks with another post: “If you feel the deck is stacked against us right now, you are right. But that’s never stopped us from beating Newsom and his corrupt enablers.
After I signed the petition for Prop. 36 last year, Newsom lied, cheated, and abused his power to stop us. We won with 70% of the vote.” In this statement dated August 31, Kiley referred to Proposition 36 and accused Governor Newsom of attempting to undermine it.
Later that same day on August 31, Kiley posted: “Newsom tried to defeat me last year and failed by 46,000 votes. So now he’s resorted to his Redistricting Sham.
I need your help to stop Newsom’s scheme and beat him again. Today is our end-of-month deadline, and I’d be truly grateful for your support.”
Kevin Kiley has represented California’s 3rd congressional district since replacing John Garamendi in 2023. He previously served in the California State Assembly from 2016 until joining Congress in early 2023. Born in Sacramento in 1985 and currently residing in Rocklin at age 38, Kiley holds degrees from Harvard University (BA) and Yale University (JD).
