Kevin Kiley, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 3rd district since 2023, has recently criticized Governor Gavin Newsom’s leadership and policies in a series of social media posts.

On March 7, 2026, Kiley posted: “Gerrymandering is a plague on democracy, one that Gavin Newsom has brought back to California. But there’s a way we can fight back and protect our democracy from his partisan games: by removing partisanship from the equation. Today, I filed for reelection as “No Party”.

Two days later, on March 8, 2026, he referenced recent polling data and economic concerns: “A new NBC survey finds Gavin Newsom has the lowest favorability rating of any person polled. It’s no mystery why. The cost of living is the top issue for Americans, and California is the state where it’s highest. Gas, electricity, water, housing, taxes – we ‘lead’ the nation.”

On March 10, 2026, Kiley commented on government spending aimed at improving California’s public image: “California is the most beautiful state in the country and should sell itself. Yet Newsom is now spending $19 million in taxpayer funds on a national PR campaign to rehab the state’s ‘image.’ Failed politics can ruin the very best things.”

Kiley succeeded John Garamendi in Congress after serving in the California State Assembly from 2016 to 2022. He was born in Sacramento in 1985 and currently resides in Rocklin. Kiley holds degrees from Harvard University (BA) and Yale University (JD).
