Kevin Kiley, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 3rd district since 2023, has posted a series of statements on social media addressing recent political developments in California and actions by Governor Gavin Newsom.
On December 14, 2025, Kiley commented on changes in the state, stating, “Things are actually improving in San Francisco and other parts of California. The reason is we keep beating Newsom. He opposed Prop. 36 and we passed it overwhelmingly. He asked for the Martin v. Boise homelessness decision to be upheld and the Supreme Court overturned it.”
The following day, December 15, 2025, Kiley raised concerns about Governor Newsom’s actions regarding Proposition 50: “This is interesting. Newsom is trying to block the testimony of the guy who was paid $108,000 to draw the Prop. 50 map for him. I wonder what he’s trying to hide.”
On December 16, 2025, Kiley referenced gas prices in California with a direct remark aimed at Governor Newsom: “In California, it’s still $4.36. Thank you, Gov. Newsom.”
Kiley has served as a member of Congress since replacing John Garamendi in 2023 and previously held office in the California State Assembly from 2016 to 2022. Born in Sacramento in 1985 and currently residing in Rocklin, Kiley holds degrees from Harvard University and Yale Law School.
