Kevin Kiley, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 3rd district, recently posted a series of tweets criticizing both national and state political leadership, referencing actions by the House of Representatives and figures such as Gavin Newsom and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
On October 17, 2025, Kiley wrote, “Perhaps ‘DC leadership’ can commiserate with Gavin Newsom.”
The following day, he highlighted comments made by former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger about Proposition 50: “Schwarzenegger calls Prop. 50 a ‘big scam’ that ‘doesn’t make any sense.’ This is notable because he is not a supporter of the President and is disinclined to criticize Newsom. Yet he knows that democracy in California is at stake. Vote NO!”
Later on October 18, Kiley criticized congressional attendance: “The House of Representatives just cancelled session for the fourth straight week. This stretch of 83 out of 95 days in recess is even worse than the CA Legislature’s disappearance during Newsom’s COVID lockdowns.”
Kevin Kiley has served in Congress since 2023 after replacing John Garamendi as representative for California’s 3rd district. He previously held office in the California State Assembly from 2016 to 2022 and was born in Sacramento in 1985. Kiley holds degrees from Harvard University (BA) and Yale University (JD).
