Kevin Kiley, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 3rd district, has expressed his concerns on several issues through his tweets. In a series of posts, he discusses topics ranging from Medicaid policies and gas prices in his state to international legislative decisions. Kiley, who replaced John Garamendi in Congress in 2023, had previously served in the California State Assembly.

On March 26, 2025, Kevin Kiley shared his views on Medicaid coverage for illegal immigrants in California. Kiley criticized Governor Gavin Newsom, stating that the policy of providing full coverage has led to Medicaid’s insolvency and strained the healthcare system. He claimed that legal residents face difficulties accessing medical services under this policy, “We are the only state in the country with this insane policy.”

Later on the same day, Kiley commented on the high gas prices faced by Californians compared to other states. Despite the national average hitting a four-year low, California’s residents pay the highest prices in the country. Kiley sarcastically pointed out the lack of smooth and pothole-free roads despite the high costs, “at least we get beautiful, smooth, pothole-free roads in return for all that money…”

On March 27, 2025, Kiley discussed the defeat of an amendment proposed by Representative Rashida Talib that sought to classify Israel as an adversary of the United States alongside countries like China, North Korea, and Iran. He reported witnessing the amendment’s overwhelming defeat on the House Floor, calling it the most significant loss he had ever observed, “just suffered the most overwhelming defeat I have ever seen on the House Floor.”
