Kevin Kiley, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 3rd district and former California State Assembly member, has recently made several statements on his social media platform, focusing on California politics and national events.

On October 11, 2025, Kiley criticized Governor Gavin Newsom’s handling of state finances, specifically referencing ongoing renovations at the State Capitol. He wrote, “As Newsom trolls the President for using his own funds on a White House ballroom, he’s spending public funds making the State Capitol ‘one of the most expensive buildings in the United States.’ Lawmakers refuse to say how much the last estimate of $1.2 billion has grown, though”.

The following day, October 12, 2025, Kiley commented on a recent international development involving the release of hostages. He stated, “This is a historic day. With the hostages being freed, families who have waited two years are getting their loved ones home. And there is finally hope for peace. As even Hillary Clinton acknowledged, President Trump deserves tremendous credit for this breakthrough.”

Later on October 12, 2025, Kiley revisited the topic of public safety in San Francisco. He wrote, “While Newsom would like you to forget it, he deployed the Guard to San Francisco himself two years ago, saying ‘we cannot let rampant crime continue.’ Of course, he did let rampant crime continue.”

Kevin Kiley, who began serving in Congress in 2023 after replacing John Garamendi, previously served in the California State Assembly from 2016 to 2022. Born in Sacramento in 1985 and currently residing in Rocklin, Kiley holds a BA from Harvard University and a JD from Yale University.
