Kevin Kiley, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 3rd district, has posted a series of statements on social media criticizing Governor Gavin Newsom and recent political developments in California.

On August 12, 2025, Kiley wrote: “Newsom overruled again. A federal court just struck down the law he signed last year to ban parody.”

The following day, on August 13, Kiley alleged that Newsom was targeting political opponents through redistricting efforts: “Newsom’s goal is to eliminate political opposition. He tried and failed to beat me in a fair election, so now he’s blowing up our Constitution in an attempt to erase my district from the map. We’ll defeat this scheme just as we’re rolling back his disastrous policies one by one.”

On August 14, Kiley commented on public opinion regarding redistricting: “California voters oppose Newsom’s redistricting sham by a 2-to-1 margin. This is why his entire strategy is predicated on fraud. He’s written ballot language designed to fool people into thinking Yes means No.”

Kiley has represented California’s 3rd congressional district since 2023 after succeeding John Garamendi. Prior to his current role in Congress, he served in the California State Assembly from 2016 to 2022. Born in Sacramento in 1985 and currently residing in Rocklin, Kiley holds degrees from Harvard University and Yale Law School.
