Kevin Kiley, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 3rd district since 2023, has recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing California’s economic challenges and the state’s ongoing redistricting debate.

On September 1, 2025, Kiley wrote, “Minor correction: California is the #1 State for Unemployment and #1 State for Poverty.” Later that day, he commented on his return to Washington D.C., stating, “I’ve just returned to DC, where I will make sure everyone understands the fraud Gavin Newsom is trying to perpetrate on the people of California. I’ll be fighting in every way possible to stop his Redistricting Sham and safeguard our democracy.”

Continuing his focus on redistricting issues, Kiley posted on September 2, 2025: “Today I rose on the House Floor to call for Speaker Johnson to set HR 4889 for a vote. This will protect the map drawn by California’s Citizens Redistricting Commission and stop Newsom’s scheme to defraud and disenfranchise our voters. The time for action is now.”

Kiley replaced John Garamendi as representative of California’s 3rd district in 2023 after serving in the California State Assembly from 2016 to 2022. Born in Sacramento in 1985 and currently residing in Rocklin, Kiley holds degrees from Harvard University (BA) and Yale University (JD).
