Kevin Kiley, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 3rd district since 2023, has recently used his social media platform to comment on actions by Governor Gavin Newsom and developments in the U.S. House of Representatives.

On November 1, 2025, Kiley wrote, “I’m honored Governor Newsom has called an entire Special Election to gerrymander my district, just as I was honored when he sent his own staff member to run against me last year. We beat him by 46,000 votes then, and this latest attempt to stop our movement will fail as well.”

The following day, Kiley addressed congressional proceedings: “The U.S. House of Representatives has just cancelled session for the sixth straight week. This has gotten absurd.” (November 2, 2025).

Later that same day, he criticized Governor Newsom’s comments regarding Proposition 50: “Gavin Newsom just blatantly lied about Prop. 50 on Meet the Press. He said, ‘the maps are in the ballot, they’re there in front of the voters.’ Here is my ballot. Do you see a map?” (November 2, 2025).

Kiley has represented California’s 3rd District in Congress since replacing John Garamendi in 2023 and previously served in the California State Assembly from 2016 to 2022. Born in Sacramento in 1985 and currently residing in Rocklin, Kiley holds degrees from Harvard University and Yale Law School.
