Kevin Kiley, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 3rd district, has posted a series of tweets criticizing recent actions by California Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles County officials.
On October 16, 2025, Kiley wrote, “Newsom has vetoed a wildfire prevention bill, calling it too costly. He is spending nearly $300 million to conduct the Prop. 50 election. If we have another catastrophic fire, he can explain to the victims how gerrymandering was more important than protecting their families.”
Later that day, Kiley commented on state homelessness spending: “The State Auditor found that Newsom ‘lost track’ of $24 billion in homelessness funds as the homeless population exploded. We are starting to learn where the money went.”
On October 17, 2025, Kiley addressed a declaration by Los Angeles County: “LA County has declared a ‘State of Emergency’ in order to give cash to illegal immigrants and impede federal authorities. No such emergency was declared when 10 million people, 500,000 unaccompanied minors, several known terrorists and untold fentanyl poured into the country.”
Kiley began serving in Congress in 2023 after previously holding office in the California State Assembly from 2016 to 2022. He was born in Sacramento in 1985 and currently resides in Rocklin. Kiley holds degrees from Harvard University and Yale Law School.
