Kevin Kiley, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 3rd district since 2023, has criticized Governor Gavin Newsom’s policies in a series of recent posts on social media. In the tweets published on December 6 and 7, Kiley addresses issues ranging from unemployment rates to affordability and healthcare reforms in California.

On December 6, Kiley wrote: “California has the highest unemployment of any state. That’s been the case during both the Biden and Trump presidencies. Newsom is the common denominator.”

Later that day, he added: “California offers a roadmap for improving affordability in America: do the opposite of everything Newsom has done. Because of radical failed policies, we pay the most for gas, electricity, water, and housing – and our state ranks first in poverty.”

Addressing healthcare costs on December 7, Kiley stated: “The way to make sure a ‘temporary’ program is actually temporary is to pay for it out of existing funds. Our proposal to lower healthcare costs, the Fix It Act, does that by stopping fraud and overpayments to insurers. In fact, the bill saves taxpayers money.”

Kevin Kiley succeeded John Garamendi as representative for California’s 3rd congressional district after serving in the California State Assembly from 2016 to 2022. Born in Sacramento in 1985 and currently residing in Rocklin, Kiley holds degrees from Harvard University (BA) and Yale University (JD).
