Rep. Kevin Kiley, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 3rd district, has raised concerns on social media regarding actions by Governor Gavin Newsom and announced new legislative efforts related to government transparency and congressional ethics.

On September 2, 2025, Kiley wrote, “Democracy is under assault in California. Governor Newsom is blowing up our Constitution in order to strip power from voters and seize it for himself. This fraud on our electorate compels action by Congress. My bill, HR 4889, will protect our representative form of government.”

Two days later, on September 4, he posted about recent developments in the state’s redistricting process: “The official ballot language for Newsom’s Redistricting Sham has been released, and it meets the legal definition of fraud. Newsom knows Californians are overwhelming opposed to his plan, so he’s trying to trick them into thinking Yes is No and No is Yes.”

On September 5, Kiley addressed another legislative priority: “I am sponsoring legislation to ban insider trading by Members of Congress. This is a common sense measure to restore trust in government.”

Kevin Kiley began serving as the U.S. Representative for California’s 3rd District in 2023 after replacing John Garamendi. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in the California State Assembly from 2016 through 2022. Born in Sacramento in 1985 and currently residing in Rocklin, Kiley holds a BA from Harvard University (2007) and a JD from Yale University.
