Kevin Kiley, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 3rd district since 2023, has recently used his social media platform to comment on issues of governance and state politics.

On September 15, 2025, Kiley posted: “We need to revive the spirit of self-government that was the great gift of our Founders. That starts with returning power to local communities, teaching young people civics and the First Amendment, and enabling all citizens to serve their community and country.”

Later that day, he criticized Governor Gavin Newsom’s redistricting plan by referencing comments from former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. On September 15, 2025, Kiley wrote: “Arnold Schwarzenegger just absolutely shredded Newsom’s Redistricting Sham, calling it ‘insane.’ Schwarzenegger said the scheme is an attempt to ‘take us backwards’ by ‘getting rid of the democratic principles of California.'”

On September 17, 2025, Kiley continued his opposition to Governor Newsom’s policies with a brief statement: “Defeat Newsom. Save California. No on 50.”

Kiley has served in Congress since replacing John Garamendi in 2023 and previously represented his region in the California State Assembly from 2016 to 2022. Born in Sacramento in 1985 and currently residing in Rocklin, Kiley holds degrees from Harvard University and Yale Law School.
