Kevin Kiley, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 3rd district since 2023, has recently addressed several issues related to state policy and governance in a series of social media posts. Kiley, who previously served in the California State Assembly from 2016 to 2022 and holds degrees from Harvard University and Yale Law School, commented on topics ranging from nonprofit funding to sanctuary state policies and gubernatorial approval ratings.
On July 9, 2025, Kiley referenced an incident involving tire spikes used against Border Patrol vehicles in Los Angeles. He stated: “There it is. The lunatics who used tire spikes to disable Border Patrol vehicles in LA carried them in CHIRLA-branded bags. CHIRLA is a ‘nonprofit’ that got $34 million in public funding. My bill, the No Tax Dollars for Riots Act, will strip such groups of tax-exempt status.”
In a post dated July 10, 2025, Kiley discussed California’s sanctuary state policies and their impact on law enforcement cooperation with federal immigration authorities. He wrote: “This is what it actually means to be a Sanctuary State. California refuses to transfer custody of dangerous criminals, instead releasing them into the community. Newsom and Bass then act outraged when ICE has to go find them. It is reckless and absurd.”
On July 11, 2025, Kiley commented on Governor Gavin Newsom’s approval rating within California and his outreach efforts beyond the state. According to Kiley: “Newsom’s approval rating in California is at an all-time low, with 53% of voters disapproving. His ‘outreach’ to red states comes as he is more unpopular than ever in his own blue state. No wonder even local South Carolina Democrats told him to go home.”
Kevin Kiley was born in Sacramento in 1985 and currently resides in Rocklin, California.
