Kevin Kiley, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 3rd district since 2023, announced a series of legislative efforts and policy positions through social media posts on September 3 and 4, 2025.

On September 3, Kiley addressed disaster relief shortcomings by stating, “FEMA has failed far too many victims of wildfires and other disasters. Today we passed the Fixing Emergency Management for Americans (FEMA) Act to change that. This legislation is a major reform that will enable many more people to get the help they need.”

The following day, Kiley commented on redistricting issues in California, outlining possible strategies to counter what he termed the “Redistricting Sham.” On September 4, he posted: “There are 3 separate ways we can stop the Redistricting Sham: 1. Passing my bill in Congress to outlaw it. 2. Winning a federal lawsuit. 3. Overcoming Newsom’s fraud in the Special Election. All face major hurdles. But one way or another, I believe we can beat this.”

Later that day, Kiley expressed support for new regulations regarding congressional ethics: “I will be co-sponsoring this bill to end stock trading by members of Congress. This is a common sense measure that will help restore trust in government.”

Kiley succeeded John Garamendi as representative for California’s 3rd district in 2023 after previously serving in the California State Assembly from 2016 to 2022. He was born in Sacramento in 1985 and currently resides in Rocklin. Kiley holds degrees from Harvard University and Yale Law School.
