Kevin Kiley, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 3rd district since 2023, has used his social media platform to announce recent legislative actions and provide updates on his political career.

On January 25, 2026, Kiley posted about a new bill he introduced: “I introduced the No Sanctuary for Criminals Act to bar sanctuary cities nationwide, enabling immigration enforcement to proceed in an orderly way focused on public safety. It’s time to pass this bill, turn down the temperature, and find common ground to stop further tragedies.”

The following day, January 26, 2026, Kiley addressed California’s high-speed rail project: “CA High-Speed Rail is the biggest public infrastructure failure in U.S. history. We’ve just passed legislation to make it ineligible for any further federal funding. The train was supposed to be done by 2020. Yet after 17 years and $17 billion, there’s still no track.”

On January 27, 2026, Kiley provided an update regarding his reelection campaign: “Quick update on my 2026 reelection. After trying and failing to unseat me in 2024, Newson changed the rules and broke my district into six pieces. He hoped that would remove me from Congress, but I intend to thwart his plans. As of today I’ve further narrowed down the path.”

Kiley succeeded John Garamendi as representative of California’s 3rd district in Congress beginning in 2023 and previously served in the California State Assembly from 2016 until 2022. Born in Sacramento in 1985 and currently residing in Rocklin at age 38, Kiley holds degrees from Harvard University (BA) and Yale University (JD).
