Rep. Kevin Kiley, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 3rd district since 2023, has recently made several statements on social media regarding state politics, public lands, and charitable giving.
On July 24, 2025, Kiley alleged that Governor Newsom is attempting to undermine the state’s redistricting process: “Governor Newsom is plotting to abolish California’s voter-approved Citizens Redistricting Commission, seize its powers for himself, and relegate Republicans to just 3 congressional seats out of 52. It would be the single most corrupt act in our state’s history.”
Later that day, Kiley addressed his efforts concerning federal land management: “Protecting public lands will always be a priority of mine. I fought hard to remove a public land sales provision from the recent budget negotiations, which will keep unnecessary federal interference out of the decision-making process. The future of public lands must have”
On July 25, 2025, he raised concerns about the distribution of charitable funds following a major disaster: “Americans showed amazing generosity in giving $100 million to support LA fire victims as part of the ‘Fire Aid’ concert. Yet the money did not go directly to victims, and went to several questionable nonprofits. I’ve asked the Attorney General to investigate.”
Kevin Kiley has served in Congress since replacing John Garamendi in 2023 and previously represented constituents in the California State Assembly from 2016 to 2022. Born in Sacramento in 1985 and currently residing in Rocklin, Kiley holds degrees from Harvard University (BA) and Yale University (JD).
