Kevin Kiley, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 3rd district, recently expressed his perspectives on various political happenings in California via Twitter. Kiley, who previously served in the California State Assembly, has been vocal about his opinions on state governance and fraud issues.

On April 11, 2025, Kevin Kiley referenced a statement by Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, who mentioned his enthusiasm about Kamala Harris’s potential gubernatorial candidacy in California. He agreed with Walz, adding, “This would give our state its best possible chance at a Republican Governor.” Kiley further invited Walz to move to California to run for Lieutenant Governor, suggesting it would provide a Republican opportunity for that office as well.

Later that day, Kiley raised concerns about financial mismanagement and fraud in California. He reported on Twitter, citing a statistic that 34 percent of community college applications are fraudulent, allegedly used to embezzle financial aid funds. In his tweet, Kiley called for an investigation by the Department of Justice into the ease of defrauding the state, comparing this to a significant loss of unemployment benefits due to fraud.

Continuing on April 13, 2025, Kiley reiterated his concerns about fraud in California. He tweeted that California ranks first in America for fraud, highlighting once again the issue with fake community college applications. He attributed the problem of unemployment fraud to Governor Gavin Newsom’s administration, criticizing it as a result of “sheer incompetence.”
