The Placer County Board of Supervisors approved a $61.6 million contract for the first phase of the Placer Parkway project on Apr. 7, with construction set to begin this summer.
The project aims to address traffic congestion, improve safety, and enhance regional connections in the area. The approval marks a significant step forward for what has been described as a long-awaited infrastructure development.
According to the county’s announcement, Phase 1 of Placer Parkway is expected to bring relief from congestion and provide safer travel routes for residents and commuters. The project is also designed to improve connectivity between different parts of the region.
The Board’s decision comes after years of planning and anticipation from local officials and community members who have advocated for improved transportation options in Placer County.
As construction begins this summer, officials say they are hopeful that these improvements will support continued growth in the region while making travel more efficient and safe.
