Rep. Kevin Kiley, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 3rd district since 2023, recently addressed issues related to healthcare spending, education outcomes, and election policy in a series of posts on his social media account.
On October 5, 2025, Kiley criticized Democratic leaders and California Governor Gavin Newsom, stating, “National Democrats are frantically trying to deny supporting healthcare for illegal immigrants. But nobody can deny Gavin Newsom spent $23 billion on precisely that. Newsom’s reckless policy drove Medicaid insolvent in California, requiring an ’emergency loan.'”
Two days later, on October 7, 2025, Kiley commented on the state of education in the United States, writing, “Student reading and math scores just reached an all-time low. The latest Nation’s Report Card reports the lowest scores ever measured for American students. This is where failed education policies have gotten us. We need to get back to basics.”
On October 8, 2025, Kiley turned his attention to California’s election policies, stating, “Californians overwhelmingly oppose Newsom’s redistricting scheme, so he’s resorted to deceiving them through misleading ballot language. It’s an attempt to rig an election that will rig all future California elections.”
Kevin Kiley has served in the U.S. Congress since 2023 after replacing John Garamendi and previously served in the California State Assembly from 2016 to 2022. He was born in Sacramento in 1985 and currently resides in Rocklin. Kiley holds a BA from Harvard University and a JD from Yale University.
