During the first quarter of 2026, Roseville Care Center emerged as the largest nursing home by bed capacity in Placer County, according to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
The facility reported 210 available beds, which was 97 above the Placer County average during that same period. On average, 173.5 residents were housed at Roseville Care Center throughout the quarter.
The CMS assigned an overall rating of 3 out of 5 to Roseville Care Center, trailing the California statewide average rating for nursing homes, which stood at 3.2.
Within the quarter, Westview Healthcare Center ranked second in the county with 205 beds, followed by Siena Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in third place at 107 beds.
Roseville Care Center went the entire quarter without any fines or penalties recorded as of the first quarter of 2026.
Altogether, Placer County was home to 10 for-profit nursing homes at that time.
According to U.S. Census Bureau estimates, the nation’s adult population age 65 and over continues to expand as the younger U.S. population shrinks. Americans 65 and older increased by 13% from 2020 to 2024, while those under 18 declined 1.7%. The country’s older adult population has grown dramatically over the past 100 years, rising from 4.9 million in 1920 to over 61 million by 2024.
A 2021 study found that about half of adults in this group—roughly 28 million people—are expected to require long-term services and support, with projections that over one-third may need nursing home care in the future.
“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
