Senator Roger Niello shared updates on his official Twitter account regarding community initiatives and personal reflections in early February 2026.

On February 3, 2026, Senator Niello highlighted the opening of a new community center: “Team Niello was proud to celebrate the ribbon cutting and grand opening of Jake’s Journey Home Community Assist Center. Jake’s Journey was founded in loving memory of Jake Shuman by his mother and sister, and it operated for 6 years as a mobile outreach unit. 1/2” He further explained the mission of the center later that day: “The center provides mental health support, inpatient care, job training, education opportunities, and more to at-risk veterans and community members to take meaningful steps towards self-sufficiency. Jake’s Journey Home Community Assist Center transitioned from six years as a mobile outreach unit into a permanent facility aimed at supporting at-risk veterans and local residents with services such as mental health care, job training, and educational resources.

Later on February 3, Senator Niello posted a tribute following the passing of Doug LaMalfa: “Still hard to believe my friend Doug LaMalfa is no longer with us. It was difficult but also comforting to share stories of Doug with my colleagues on the Senate floor. He will be missed.” Doug LaMalfa served as a U.S. Representative for California’s 1st congressional district until his death.

Senator Roger Niello represents California’s 6th Senate District and has been involved in various legislative efforts related to public service and veteran support.
