Siena Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center emerged as Placer County’s third largest nursing home during the first quarter of 2026, according to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

Records show the facility offered 107 beds—six fewer than the Placer County average as of Q1 2026—and cared for an average of 91.7 residents over that period.

The nursing center earned an overall CMS rating of 5 out of 5, exceeding California’s nursing home average of 3.2.

Roseville Care Center reported the highest number of licensed beds in the county with 210, followed by Westview Healthcare Center at 205.

In the first quarter of 2026, Siena Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center incurred one fine totaling $4,194 and received a single penalty.

There were 10 for-profit nursing homes operating in Placer County, California.

According to U.S. Census Bureau estimates, the nation is experiencing ongoing growth in its older adult population, while numbers among younger groups slip. Between 2020 and 2024, the 65-and-older category grew by 13%, as the under-18 group shrank by 1.7%. The aging U.S. population has expanded sharply since 1920, from 4.9 million to over 61 million in 2024.

A 2021 study estimates that about half of older adults—around 28 million—could need some form of long-term services and supports, and more than one-third may ultimately require nursing home care.

“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
