Census Bureau: 8% of people in Placer County identified as multiracial in 2021

Of the 400,330 citizens living in Placer County in 2021, 92% said they were only one race, while 8% said they were two or more races, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained in June.

The most prevalent racial group among citizens in Placer County who reported being of a single race in 2021 was white, comprising 77.8% or 311,591 individuals. Following them, Asian accounted for 8.5% and totaled 34,011 individuals.

The percentage of multiracial residents in Placer County is 2.7% lower than the state average, which stands at 10.7%.
