Penn Valley Union Elementary School District's schools enrolled 609 students in the 2022-23 school year, 8% more than the previous year, according to the California Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 52.6% of them were boys, and 47% were girls.

Data also showed that most of the students were white, making up 69.6% of the Penn Valley Union Elementary School District's total enrollment.

Penn Valley Union Elementary School District covers three schools within Nevada County with its main office in Penn Valley.

Among the three schools in Penn Valley Union Elementary School District, Ready Springs Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 371 students in the 2022-23 school year.

In the last decade, enrollment in California elementary and secondary schools rose by at least 5%, while high school enrollment dropped 5%.

However, overall enrollment in California public schools is sliding, and the Public Policy Institute of California expects it to drop another 8% by the 2031-32 school year.
