Enrollment at Placer County Office of Education schools increased by 3.4% compared to previous school year

Placer County Office of Education's schools enrolled 399 students in the 2022-23 school year, 3.4% more than the previous year, according to the California Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 59.2% of them were boys, and 40.3% were girls.

Data also showed that most of the students were white, making up 63.2% of the Placer County Office of Education's total enrollment.

Placer County Office of Education covers four schools within Placer County with its main office in Auburn.

Among the four schools in Placer County Office of Education, Placer County Pathways Charter recorded the highest enrollment of 292 students in the 2022-23 school year.

In the last decade, enrollment in California elementary and secondary schools rose by at least 5%, while high school enrollment dropped 5%.

However, overall enrollment in California public schools is sliding, and the Public Policy Institute of California expects it to drop another 8% by the 2031-32 school year.
