CITY OF ROCKLIN: Residents Encouraged to "Shop Placer" this Holiday Seasons

Local

City of Rocklin recently issued the following announcement.

Rocklin, Placer County and local city leaders have united to roll-out a Shop Placer campaign this holiday season. The “Shop Placer, Show Love for Local” campaign, encourages Placer County residents to shop local whenever possible.

Shop Placer is a regional effort to support local businesses, especially those hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. Shopping local also provides a variety of benefits to residents.

For instance, shopping locally helps keep businesses open and preserves jobs. It also keeps tax dollars invested in our communities for important services including law enforcement and fire services.

Small businesses give back to local communities – many of them sponsor Little League and softball teams, donate to charity events, fundraisers and galas.

Local retailers are knowledgeable about their products and can give personalized one-on-one attention to their customers.

Visit ShopPlacer.com for more information and a full list of Placer County cities and towns, local chambers and tourism partners.

We are encouraging all residents to shop in Placer County for their holiday gifts as much as possible, especially this year. So many of our local businesses have struggled through the COVID-19 shutdowns and are doing everything they can to ensure customers feel safe. It is now our turn to support them through this holiday season so they can prosper into the future. - Board Chair and District 1 Supervisor Bonnie Gore, Placer County Board of Supervisors

Our small businesses have worked hard to ensure a safe shopping experience. During these challenging economic times, our merchants and restaurants need all of our support. - Mayor Daniel Berlant, City of Auburn

The City of Colfax has always been a community that helps its neighbors. I am confident our residents will support local this holiday season to make sure our small businesses make it through these difficult times. - Mayor Pro Tem Sean Lomen, City of Colfax

I am certain the residents of Lincoln can be counted on to support our business communities and believe that we can truly make a difference if we pull together and keep our holiday shopping dollars local. - Mayor Dan Karleskint, Lincoln, CA

During these most unprecedented times our local businesses really need our support more than ever. Before you click that button to buy your holiday gifts, remember that you have loads of local vendors that would love and greatly appreciate your business. Please think outside the box this holiday season and do a quick Google search. I’ll bet you will be delighted to find a Placer County business that has just what you need nearby. Your local businesses will be thrilled that you made the extra effort and you will be helping your neighbors and your community all at the same time. So join me please and let’s shop in our home towns, or anywhere in Placer County to show your love for local.  - Mayor Jan Clark-Crets, Town of Loomis

It’s more important than ever to support our local small businesses. They are the backbone of our communities and are hurting. As you are doing your holiday shopping this year, I encourage everyone in Placer County to think and shop local first. - Mayor John B. Allard II, City of Roseville
