On December 5, 2024, Kevin Kiley highlighted the legal developments in Placer County regarding fentanyl-related crimes. He stated, "This is significant. Placer County has led the way in charging fentanyl dealers with murder. Thanks to Prop. 36, these prosecutions will now become more viable across the state."
On December 6, 2024, Kiley turned his attention to California's high-speed rail project. He remarked, "I am glad @DOGE has turned its attention to what may be the single most wasteful project in U.S. history: California’s 'High-Speed' Rail. 16 years after it began, there have been more CEOs of the Rail Authority than passengers.
