Kevin Kiley, a U.S. Congressman representing California's 3rd district, shared his views on recent political developments in California through a series of tweets. The tweets, posted on February 4, 2025, cover topics ranging from Republican gains in the state to financial decisions made by Governor Gavin Newsom.

On February 4, 2025, Kevin Kiley highlighted the progress made by Republicans in California since their low point in 2020. He noted that they have gained ground over Democrats in registered voters for five consecutive times and picked up seats in both the Assembly and Senate. Additionally, he mentioned the passage of Proposition 36 across all California counties. "In 2020, Republicans were at an all-time low in California. Just a few years later, so much has changed: -We've gained ground over Democrats in registered voters 5 straight times -We picked up seats in the Assembly and Senate -We passed Prop. 36 in every California county -We…"

Later that day, Kiley criticized Governor Gavin Newsom for defaulting on a $20 billion federal loan and imposing a tax hike on businesses to repay it. He also pointed out that despite this financial strain, funds were allocated for free healthcare for illegal immigrants and a slush fund aimed at "Trump-proofing" the state. "It's true: Newsom defaulted on a $20 billion loan from the federal government, forcing our businesses to pay it back with a tax hike. Yet he found money to give free healthcare to every illegal immigrant and create a slush fund for 'Trump-proofing' the state."

In another tweet posted on February 4, Kiley expressed optimism about President Trump signing his bill intended to halt funding for what he described as the "High-Speed Rail debacle." "It appears President Trump will sign my bill to cut off funding for the High-Speed Rail debacle."
